About May Cottage

May Cottage, front door and garage
May Cottage is a delightful property in a private close off the centre of the village of Kingston St Mary. It was rebuilt to modern standards with all services in the 70’s on the site of half of an old cottage.
On the ground floor of this desirable cottage is a large bright lounge with gas fire, and wide patio doors facing the garden. A door leads to the newly refurbished kitchen/dining room which is light and spacious. It has a fitted stainless steel sink, with plumbing ready for other machines.
Upstairs the master bedroom, with dual aspect dormer windows, is unusually roomy for a cottage. The second double bedroom is light and airy and enjoys views of the garden.
The bathroom was recently refitted, and includes a new electric shower over the bath. A large airing cupboard with hot water tank provides additional storage, as does the loft space.
There is gas-fired central heating; the cottage was totally re-wired in 2007; it has cavity insulation; double glazing throughout; and new fascia boards and guttering. Floor coverings are all new throughout, and decoration is in excellent order.
One of the features of this South-facing cottage is the seating area, visible through and accessed by the large patio doors and a real sun-trap ringed by well-stocked raised flower beds. Through this a gently sloped path leads to a lawned area and a small garden shed. A tap & outside power supply make gardening easier.
An access path connects the garden and kitchen back door to the single garage, which has an up-and-over door and power outlets. There is hard-standing for one car at the cottage front.
Located in a quiet and peaceful area, the cottage is actually only 25 metres from the bus stop, with direct services to Taunton, Bridgwater & Bishop’s Lydeard.
The ‘Swan Inn’ is also only a few steps away, and provides a traditional ambience and good pub fare.
