Agaves and Cacti near Tapalpa
I don’t think it’s an Agave Tequilana, but I’ve been wrong before.
*edit* It’s “Agave americana var. expansa” thanks, Dra. Ana Valenzuela! */edit*

The Panteon de Belen (Bethlehem Cemetary) in the centre of Guadalajara is not as old as it looks, built in 1848 or thereabouts. It still has many ghost stories though… This shot was taken on or around the Day of the Dead last year.
Apparently: Tortillas aren’t fattening (50 Calories per tortilla), are rich in calcium and fibre, and contain vitamins and minerals. You heard it here first. Picture from Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico
Rule number one in Mariachi portraits is not to smile. Taken in the centre of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
Taken just before it got so dark they turn the ridiculous neon crosses on on its spires. The emblematic heart of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
More Mariachi action from the competition last Friday. Tuning a guitar next at an amplified concert is a skill all in itself.
Best water deliverer evah…
View of Dr. Jaime’s weekend getaway through the pencas of an Agave Tequilana Weber.
Mexican beer, Pacifico, which goes very well with sea side locations. Cheaper by the bucket.
en un bar en Guadalajara…
Looking for a sangrita recipe? You could do a lot worse than my mate José’s rough and ready concoction…
Posing in Guadalajara´s Lucha Libre arena, El Coliseo in calle Medrano again. Great fun and cheap as chips.
Mop. Moppity mop.
I love the way the shadows seem to have nothing to do with the lettering. The colour too is quite pleasing…
Once again, taken in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, a couple of days ago.
Tequila again, but the car’s from Michoacán. The loudspeaker on top is to keep you posted as you lie in on a Sunday morning of the latest prices of veggies, local politician´s promises, the times of lucha libre or bull fights and sometimes just music for the sheer hell of it. Love it!
It got a bit hot today in Tequila. The dog here had the right idea. Stay in the shade. Maintain as much body contact with the concrete floor as possible. Do no exercise more strenuous than opening one eye occasionally. The green shadows are from the roof tiles.
Too late to post anything of note. Suffice to say washing your clothes is a lot harder in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico…
I’ve been taking photos of cars that blend in with where they’re parked for the last couple of years in Guadalajara. People have even started sending me examples by email. Anyway, there’s about 100 in the set now. A year ago I made a video of them. It’s probably time to have another go soon.
Any chance you could vote for me with the button to the right, below. It’s a vanity photo competition that might drive a bit more traffic this way. Only if you like the photos though. Thanks!
At the end of one of the many tentacles of the baratillo Sunday market in Guadalajara there was a section for practically antique fairground rides and games. Here’s a close up of the table football (know as foozball or summink equally unlikely in the USA)
