From Wikipedia: “The Flatiron Building, or Fuller Building as it was originally called, is located at 175 Fifth Avenue in the borough of Manhattan, and is considered to be one of the first skyscrapers ever built. Upon completion in 1902 it was one of the tallest buildings in New York City.”
And now I have captured its soul… mua hahaha, etc.
I’d like to fave this several times.
Flatiron?
This is great. There’s like no background.
Thank you both!
And thx for the info, Joe. Made blogging it a lot easier…
It is an impressive structure. I wonder when it was made?
un edificio clásico…
Perfect shot, Gwyn. My fave building in all of NYC– and this view of it was the first thing I saw as I emerged from the 23rd St. N/R station every morning. Thanks.
Thanks Josh! It was worth elbowing a few Spanish tourists out the way to get the angle then 😉
1902, Lance. Wikipedia never lies…
a qué sí, obdulio
A marvelous structure – i got a bit muddled with the name though and called it the “flatiron” – say it really fast and pretend you’re Spanish… I got a few odd looks until someone worked out what i was talking about! I can now pronounce it properly!
So you made it to NYC! You foreigners with yer strange tongues… Hope you had fun. I have a 20 minute maximum tolerance for NY now…
