*edit* OK, I shall explain just had a long chat with bert and he mentioned his mobile phone could handle RSS feeds and now he’s got my blog on his phone. It’s one of those days for technological firsts.

So César, Sita and I are off to the Indian place again this evening- see you there? And while I’m at it, thanks for all your comments. I’m indebted for you for noticing those broken links. Much obliged and it’s nice to have it all delivered with the perfect english of a graduate of the Red Dwarf Academy of Language.

Although I have a soft spot for “I’m Still Standing” as it reminds me of a holiday in Cornwall in 1983… I was 8 and I reckon that’s allowed… Anyroad, apparently he played a gig in Taunton’s cricket ground last week. This is huge for Taunton and the Gazette’s going all out on an 8 page special edition souvenir spread. The only decent concert I’ve ever attended in Taunton (for all I know the only concert Taunton’s had since the Beatles played there in sixty something) was the Senseless Things in the Blackbrook Sports Center. Maybe this will herald the way for big-name gigs in Somerset. Which would give the kids something to do rather than while getting wasted on alcopops and planning how to leave the town…

Manresa Beach

Mornin’ all. I’ve been reliably informed that it’s miserable weather in the south west of England and much of Wales right now, so for those of you who don’t check in on my flickr page that often, I’ve done another of those Picasa-made pages with photos from yesterday. Please note the cloudless skies, warm sand and icy water. And feckless doggie.

This one’s from when the horizon suddenly filled up with seagulls and pelicans in some kind of feeding frenzy. NPR’s also been on the blink all day, skipping like a scratched CD. These are both evidence of ‘glitches in the Matrix’, I believe.

Unless I sell Sita’s bike this morning I’m going to go for a ride up the coast, sans chien, which’ll be a novelty. I also have to get back to Stu, Anne & Bert about a ‘Duke of Edinburgh Award for Grown-ups’ weekend sometime in July. I don’t know which weekends we’re available yet nor if sita’s up for kendal mint cake and trig point related fun. It’ll be a laugh however it plays out. Maybe Snowdonia?

I’ve a job interview on Wednesday.

I’m trying to learn flash online from the free bits of tutorials offered by sites trying to sell you whole courses. It’s a bit hit and miss. I managed to get the fade in/out thing easily enough: see here. But the animation bit needs work. This took far too long to make and really is for want of a better description, piss poor:

Pensando rápido, el otro nio arranca rápido una tabla de una cerca y le da un golpe en el cuello del perro, matándolo instantáneamente.

Un reportero que se encontraba cerca observa la escena y corre a entrevistar al valiente nio mexicano y escribe en su libreta:
“VALIENTE FAN DE LAS CHIVAS SALVA A SU AMIGUITO DE LAS FAUCES DE AGRESIVO PERRO”

a.. Yo no le voy a las chivas, replica el pequeo héroe.
b.. Perdona, como estamos en Guadalajara asumí que le ibas a las chivas.

Entonces escribió: “VALIENTE FAN DEL ATLAS SALVA A SU COMPAÑERO DE TERRIBLE ATAQUE”

a.. Tampoco le voy al Atlas le dice el nio…
b.. Asumí que estando en Guadalajara le irías a las Chivas o al Atlas. Entonces, ¿A quién le vas?
a.. Le voy al América le dice el nio…

    How about this weekend, or next week perhaps? I mean, there’s no such thing as too much curry, right?

    Got to go, I really need to have something ready for my client today. He’s coming to check it out, and the system doesn’t work, and he’ll probably eat me alive because of that. The ugly goit. 😉

  2. I notice the capture of the (alleged) ‘mataviejitas’ and that she’s a lucha libre fan. We didn’t know about this dark side. So do you support the ‘tecnicos’ or the ‘rudos’ when cheering ’em on?

  3. She’s a popcorn seller who also wrestled from time to time. Quite a grisly story that one actually. Still we don’t give up on all postmen just because a small minority go on rampagess with assault rifles from time to time.

    As for whom I support, I’m fickle. Supposedly those in the cheap seats go for the Rudos and the rest los Tecnicos. The tecnicos almost always win. I just cheer when everyone else does and wave back to which ever one’s waving in my direction. Present faves: Blue Panther (tecnico) and Maximo (flamboyant mohicaned rudo)
