You’ve done the fototour, now buy the T-Shirt…
I’m looking into more local options, but I reckon this looks rather nice on a T-Shirt… CafePress want to charge 5 bucks p&p (or s&h as they say in gringolandia) but I’m sure I can do better than that in Santa Tere…
Yesterday I went to see Hollywoodland with young Sita, and there’s some new brief reviews over on the film review page and then Chili’s for supper. You’d think an American chain restaurant impersonating Mexican cuisine wouldn’t do too well here. Wrong. It’s all about the PORTIONS. I still feel vaguely full.
Lots of traffic arriving at this blog searching for “300 Sparta animated gifs” … I hate to disappoint so Pssst here’s one…
Monica and “OC” D are heading back to the Bay Area tomorrow to fill up on ethnic food before May’s constant stream of visitors. And I think we’re heading to Tequila. Someone comment tomorrow at around 11am GDL time to remind me to pick up the photos on the way out. Many thanks…
Sita graduates…
…this afternoon. From this point on in the blog, and the real world, she’s Dr. Sita.
Sally & Martin are down at the minute and we’re off for breakfast in a moment. Lots of pictures coming this way in 24-48 hours.
Hasta pronto!

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THE CONGRATS. We’re still celebratin’ more soon, including this photo…
I’m thinking of closing down GwynUnlimited.com
Which might well mean quite a few posts of film & book reviews and pictures of various pets appearing in this blog just for archival purposes…
It’ll save me $7.95 a month on hosting and 20 bucks or so a year on the domain name, and though it’ll be a shame to lose my pagerank and all the potential SEO that goes with it, I’ll get over it… I’ll invest the money in continuing my Flickr pro account and maybe a few tacos…
Have a gander’s at its present incarnation here. T’was good while it lasted and served as a useful “Sandbox” (US) Sandpit (UK) for trying out new webbery ideas and such like… I haven’t updated it for months. Turns out it’ll probably be on the WayBackMachine’s servers embarassing me till the end of time anyway… Relive the heady days of Gwynunlimited in from February 2004 onwards on the WayBackMachine

Internet Scrabble Club
People tend to arrive on this page to see if there are problems with http://isc.ro, your best bet is downforeveryoneorjustme.com/isc.ro to see if it’s down for everyone or just you.
EDIT: 1/12/08
When I logged into scrabble today I saw this message, thought it might help the folks who got here via google for ISC server status…
EDIT: 2/Nov/08: The isc.ro site’s been down for me (and everyone else according to http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/) for a week or so. I can still log in and play though… Doesn’t bode well.
EDIT: 1/June/08 : Just noticed a spike in traffic for hardcore scrabble addicts wondering what’s up with the ISC server. On their site it’s saying:
The main server is currently experiencing an outage. We do not have an estimated time to repair at present. ISC backup server is running, to connect select from the ‘Open Connection’ window ‘ISC backup server’
We apologize for the inconvenience.
I can’t connect to the backup server though… Hey ho. Looks like it’s back to Scrabulous on Facebook
Just testing a new button I’ve got on me browser that I can press when I want to blog a page I like… My scrabble rating’s presently at 915, highest ever. This year I intend to get past 1000. Sita’s moving over to the dark side though, with her Su Doku, so fat chance of any real world practice…

I finally managed a new minor film review (in the sidebar if you’re using a decent browser), and I’m trying to get back into my blogging groove, but I’ve got a fair bit of “chamba” on at the minute- translating movie scripts, site updates and getting my head around a WordPress e-commerce site.
This is also a test post to see if I can get a LightBox plug in going. Sorry if it screws up the RSS feed as I might need to keep editing this entry.
Yay, it appears to work. Click on John Craven to see another John in a balloon. Make sure the entire page has loaded first mind for the full ajaxy fun.

One of the sessions I enjoyed at WordCamPDX last week was on “Tying your tubes” about funnelling all your internet activity into a “lifestream”, a list of your activity on various social sites like Flickr, Twitter, YouTube, Google Reader and the like. The main thrust of it was how to include it in the sidebar using a couple of plugins, but I reckon this blog has enough going on in the sidebar without any more clutter… so, if there’s nothing much to hold your interest on this page, try the brand new LifeStream link on the top right to see what I’ve been uploading/favouriting/sharing around the interwebs. There was all kinds of things to do with Twitter too, but I still can’t work up the energy to tweet regularly. It’s all I can be arsed to do to tell Facebook what my “status” is every few days.
Also, if you were thinking this blog is taking even longer to load these days, it might be because I added a weather widget to the left sidebar. So if you’re wondering how wet it is today in Portland, scroll down a bit and on your left you’ll wonder no more.
This morning we went to the Farmers Market on the PSU campus downtown. I think Mum and Dad were doing something similar in North Petherton. But I’ll bet there weren’t any monkey heads on sale there…
