Kaylee! Is it too late to say I’m sorry? (in-joke for UK Firefly and Marillion fans…) (both of them)

Am now officially knackered after my 3am drain unblocking, computer unplugging, sandwich eating antics last night… Couldn’t sleep even with gentle music in my earphones and my eyes covered by the sheets… So apparently, the rainy season has started…
A whole new browser and Picasa 3.0 beta, all in the same week? Didn’t they just launch a spy satellite too?
People don’t come here for tech reviews, so suffice to say Chrome is fast and well worth installing. Picasa continues to be a delight. I’ve got it tied up making a video slideshow with music and automatically uploading it to YouTube, but apparently there’s all kinds of other stuff too. Collages, proper image editing (removing blemishes), erm, slideshows again. I’ll edit this and post the youtube thing in here in a minute.
What else? Well, ever been in a cybercafe, desperately wanted to see pictures of Atticus and find out what I had for breakfast, but then forgotten what the address was of this site? something to do with tequila, spiders and logs? well, now gwynf.com will get you here in half the time. I found a coupon for godaddy (TEST99 if you want to try it), $1.19 for a domain for a year and it had to be used up soon, so there you go.

Above collage made stupidly easily with Picasa 3…
Quietish day today, thanks for asking. Tanya, becky, scott and naiomi came round last night for another in our series of sophisticated dinner parties. at the end of the evening tanya and I finished a game of scrabble we’d started last monday at sita’s basketball game on me pda and we managed a draw. how often does that happen? very good use of the board too…
i bought meself Zuma and downloaded a demo of Text Twist too for the Palm which is grand. (Them there links’ll take you to the online versions which are fun enough too). So when we were walking Mr.A today I could stand outside Safeway and Blockbuster with him playing PDA games whilst sita shopped.
A friend of ours, Val, roped me into playing backing guitar for a song she’s going to sing at the 2005 Santa Cruz Queer Youth Leadership Awards. So today we auditioned at the diversity centre and got through to the next round… I’m doing the translation for the event again. It’s a laugh and all for a good cause. They wanted to know what we’d be wearing for the event and thought it strange we hadn’t the first clue. It’s not till mid april for christ’s sake… i’m thinking a cute little black number… but anyroad, val and her daughter Sage, took us out for lunch at the Walnut Avenue Bistro. Which was well nice… I’m starting to be a bit fussier about me food these days… a mixture of stress, more chewing than usual and old age has brought on Temporo-Mandibular Disorder whereupon my jaw is trying to escape from its hinges so i’m all about nice soft food and small little bites right now.
Young Mr.Craggs has been back in touch after I forwarded him an article from the taunton times about someone impaling themself on the gates of Vivary Park in Taunton. Which has some very similar details to an accident he himself had himself about 10 years ago… and that’s stirred up some interest in these here pages from the bristol, ahem, posse. Gav’s in Melbourne of course, now. I think i knew that…
Mother’s day tomorrow- Thanks for the reminder, Annelise, and me Grandma’s birthday any day now too. Am off to watch Curb your enthusiasm series 3. Couldn’t be collectively arsed to get to the cinema for The Aviator. Maybe next week. Possibly more blogging tomorrow. Got lots of translations to do. Stay in touch, like. Fond regards…
Erudite, witty and charming, have a listen to DrSita chatting on her chosen specialist subject
If I get over 400 points in a two player game of scrabble, I’m happy with meself, but this geezer racked up 365pts with just one word…
As I wex lyrical to my jo, it’s not qua my abilities. Even when armed with my jax and the azo qi is flowing fortuitously through the qats.
Meanwhile, my puritanical Scrabble for my pocket PC refuses to accept “poo”.
The easiest border crossing yet… The only question they asked was how long I’d been in Guadalajara and whether I’d got Montezuma’s Revenge. Bizarre… Still I prefer questions about my gastrointestinal health to the usual barrage of interrogation they usually give me. On the plane they didn’t have any customs forms in English so they gave me a Spanish one, which in my sleepy state I filled in in Spanish. The customs bloke read it and saw “Country where passport issued” was Inglaterra. He crossed it out with a red pen and wrote “Mexico”. I despair at the US educational system and their Spanish teachers…
There was banks of fog at LAX so we ended up landing in Ontario Airport and hanging around for half an hour then flying back to LAX, so we got in a bit late. However I managed to sleep through both take offs, both landings and even breakfast so it’s all good.
Sita’s got a lovely little apartment here 5 minutes from Trader Joe’s so I’ve been working on various websites and keeping myself to myself. Later today we’re Downey bound. Strange internet setup here that varies between blisteringly fast and zilch and my lappy won’t connect because of lingering issues with the IE7 beta thing I stupidly installed 6 months ago… But all’s well. Intermittant blogging to follow, cheers!
