Mum’s birthday in the Santo Coyote Restaurant

So after a relaxing day breakfasting in Chop!, looking at terrapins, squirrels and hummingbirds in Colomos park and phoning the world, we made it to the Santo Coyote restaurant (Av. Lerdo de Tejada 2379; Guadalajara; Tel: 3616 6978) to celebrate mum’s 60th in style. As ever, the food was excellent. They’ve recently opened several new sections in the already huge restaurant and since we managed to hold off arriving till 8pm which, though early, meant there was plenty of atmosphere. The mariachis strike up around 9pm… FYI.

I’m not going to review this place, so in summary: Excellent ambience, fine wines, fantastic food, pricey-but-worth-it. Here’s some pix to give you a taste:

Molcajete action!

Our good friend, Ana, gave us a molcajete t’other day. It’s a volcanic rock pestle and mortar type thing crucial to Mexican cuisine. We christened it yesterday when Berta came round to make salsa and go over Sita’s talk for today. The next stage is experimenting with different chiles…

Still waiting on contracty people for the house, so in the meantime, I’ve been designing meself business cards, making a few changes & additions to the nutrition site I’m doing, and how’s this look for my new sublegal Mexican enterprise: Diseno Web Agave?
Agave’s the plant they make tequila out of, and for the record, Fionuala, its sap is said to have similar healing properties to aloe vera.

Je ne l’ai pas passe tres bien aujourd’hui

Ca fait beaucoup de temps depuis que j’ecris en francais. Le bon chose c’est qu’on ne peut pas ecrire les accents avec le clavier qwerty que j’utilise. Je crois que quand j’ecris en francais c’est plus comme espanole avec les mots subtitues. Anyroad, Le boulot etait afreux. J’en ai marre. Vraiment. Ah bugger it… i’ll get over it.
