Anglo-Mexican Relations take another step
I’m sure that in 2 years time we’ll look back and laugh from within our virtual reality tacto-suits with neuro-implants, but for today I’m mightily impressed with Skype’s beta video conferencing thing. Had a lovely chat with me folks and could see them in as much detail as the unnatural light of 11pm GMT would allow. Even Sita joined in the fun. It also allowed them a chance to comment on the latest paint that Sita’s selected and to see this picture of her levitating behind our settee.
Weekend plans
This evening Casa Gaytan-Fisher-Seltzer-Garcia is hosting a German evening. Daniel’s been cooking for what seems like a fortnight and some mates are coming round tonight to sample his gastronomic meat and potato based delights. Tomorrow there’s a party (all are welcome) round Amour Fou way, email me for details. And on Sunday, we may well be off to Tapalpa for the day. If I’m not knackered and we’re back in time there’s cultural goings on at Café Clandestino, who’ve gotten themselves a fancy YouTube page and sent out the following invite for Spanish poetry readings on Sunday evening at 8ish :
Thanks Christina from Canada for your comment in the Guestmap. Glad to be of service 🙂 And if any of you haven’t yet guestmapped yerselves it fair makes my day to get new little guestmappees.
Welcome, Swedes
I still have to get round to stating in no uncertain terms what a grand time I had seeing everyone in blighty. So maybe next time…
I had me interview for the project director position on Wednesday and it went OK considering I hadn’t slept the night before. Anyhow, I’m into the second round versus a bloke with a PhD so I have to enlarge my vocabulary over the weekend and get a few books out of the library on grant writing. If you don’t know where i work, you can visit the PAPAS site in English or Spanish and have a nose around. So the second interview’s next week and I’ll let you know how i got on.
In other news, this site appears to have become popular in Sweden. If you’re reading from there, thanks and who are you? It’s pretty rare that anyone happens on these pages who doesn’t know me unless they’re searching for #1: Banana Slugs, #2 Bunnies or #3 Spanish Teaching Links.
