Starry snowy night
We had another flurry of snow last night, about half an inch, but by the morning it was gone. While it fell I took this long exposure shot with a flash so you get the trails of the snow with some flakes ‘frozen’ by the flash.

I just happened to have the right camera, the right lens and a sufficiently tired dog to take some photos of the spectacular sunset yesterday. Rain today…
I bought the domain name www.vintageviewfinders.com today. A bargain at 99cents for a year and I’ve set it up to forward to this category. Wish I’d thought of it before I got my business cards printed, but hey ho.
I was happy with how this one turned out. It’s a weeping willow, looking straight up, and zooming out while taking the shot.
I was desperately trying to come up with a non-clichéd shot here. But failed… Gorgeous views without a doubt, nothing you can’t see on Google Earth mind.
I tried to give this a view-from-a-zeppelin type feel, or possibly from Lando’s Cloud City… There’ll be some more Seattle pix coming soon. Am truly knackered now.
“Dipsacus is a genus of flowering plant in the family Dipsacaceae. The members of this genus are known as teasel or teazel or teazle.” says Wikipedia. I’d just like to add Teasle to the list of accepted spellings.
If I’d had a tripod I could have tried HDR for this, but as it is I chose to concentrate on the reflection of the sky and underexpose the rest. I like the fringe of autumn trees too… What do you reckon? Comments are welcome, as are ratings.
The view from Alameda’s dog park at sunset almost makes up for having to follow them round with a plastic bag…
Things are looking up in Tapalpa, Jalisco.
A fern frond unfurling below a Michocan sky.
It would make a great Olympic sport…
I just got a new camera which has an in-built autostitch function, hence this photo… Taken by the Paraninfo of the University of Guadalajara. I’m not convinced the dimensions work for this photoblog. What do you reckon?

Kids waiting patiently for Jesus to appear at San Martin de las Flores’ Judea 2007.
On the way to Tapalpa, Jalisco, Mexico there are more than a few of these goat (?) skulls perched on gates. Didn’t scare us off though. We’re used to seeing them floating in the middle of soups in San Juan de Dios market food court…
It’s like, how much more neo-gothic could it be? None. None more neo-gothic.
