  1. I love supermarket pics! heh they are so cool in a strange sort of way.

  3. can’t see the twiglets!!!!
or the cadburys creme eggs, or the packets of welsh cakes,or the Polos or the shredded wheaet or the Scots porridge oats.
i hate jaffa cakes or have i eaten too many from Myf’s cupboard circa 1957…..
    love mum xx

  4. Even I can understand “y no venden jaffa cakes” – and now I’m hungry for some. Bother!

They are missing Marmite and they have far too many Nestle products – think of the third world babies!

But most importantly, who is Barry?

  5. Here’s my list, please Mum:

    • 10 x Twiglets
    • 12 x Cadbury’s Creme Eggs
    • The know-how for making Welsh Cakes
    • 500g Crunchy Nut Corn Flakes
    • as much Fair Trade Tea as you need + 50%
    • A few bars of Cadbury’s Fruit & Nut (cos the US version uses a) the wrong ingredients, b) the wrong nuts
    • 2 x Jaffa Cakes

There’s more but that’ll do for now 😉 Nah, seriously, just looking forward to seeing you, I can live without such trifles.

Same thing happened to me, Flash. One mention of jaffa cakes or cheese on toast and I have to have it…

Marmite’s on the top shelf, a bit over-exposed, but it’s there…they’re ‘developing nation’ babies now, and finally, I reckon Barry might be Irish but couldn’t manage a whole shelf’s worth of other stuff from the Emerald Isle… They could call it that though, the Emerald Aisle. Missed a trick…

  6. Current plans are 2 months in Mexico in the summer of 2010… remind me and I’ll bring a care package to Tlaquepaque 😉 Not sure on the rules regarding importing decent cheddar though…

  7. i see mc vities……….. !!! i found a greek (!) market next to us that sells them for $1.99 while cost plus sells them for $4.99! as for the blog-writing, your articles are as always, interesting, witty and leave the reader wishing s/he were witness to the interestingness (sorry flickr) that is your reality….saludos!

  8. Aw, Xtica! Gracias- super amable!

Well if you ever need a second income, selling McVities from your greek market at $3.99 outside Cost Plus could be an option. CP’s Heinz Baked beans are asking to be undercut too…

    Saludos!

    p.s. Flickr does count

  9. JajajajajajaJ! always the witty one, senor gwyn! and from your mc vities comment, i see the resourceful one as well!
