And I’m not sure if Ms Bennet reads this rubbish I call a blog but, thanks for the Ghost Rider critique- I watched it yesterday and a review is forthcoming which shall speak to your pertinent observations… for me, a success… it does exactly what it says on the tin, stunt motorcyclist sells his soul to the devil and becomes an avenging nocturnal flaming skeleton on a bike. Great stuff… (I then watched Cinema Paradiso to counteract the adrenelin…)

Wander round el Centro de GDL

Going on the open-top bus tour with Beth and Ali t’other day made me realise I hadn’t really had a good wander round the centre of Guadalajara for a while. Things on my list included: the pitaya (dragon fruit) market over at Nueve Esquinas, the Daniel Buren artistic intervention in el Instituto Cultural las Cabañas (highly recommended, enormous mirrors, billowing curtains and colourful patterns accentuate and play with the buildings’ symmetry and space), and a look at the Mercado Corona post fire (it’s being demolished). Also I hadn’t been on the 629 bus in a long time and to go a year in la Perla Tapatia without buying a bus ticket would have been a verguenza. The Tabachin trees are in full bloom, there’s half a ton of bananas growing outside our house, and thanks to yesterday being El Día de la Madre (Happy Mexican Mother’s Day, Mum!), if you weren’t buying or receiving flowers you probably weren’t from around these parts. Je ne l’ai pas passe tres bien aujourd’hui

Ca fait beaucoup de temps depuis que j’ecris en francais. Le bon chose c’est qu’on ne peut pas ecrire les accents avec le clavier qwerty que j’utilise. Je crois que quand j’ecris en francais c’est plus comme espanole avec les mots subtitues. Anyroad, Le boulot etait afreux. J’en ai marre. Vraiment. Ah bugger it… i’ll get over it.

Up and running more or less…

Well, at least I’ve never been more prepared for a system breakdown than this time. Files backed up, settings, a handwritten list of programs to install… And (THANK YOU ANA!) a replacement computer lined up to boot. I really shouldn’t complain… I even remembered to backup my firefox saved password files. I’m probably going to invest in a decent amount of RAM for this computer though so it doesn’t get tied up during webdesignery. I’ll also have to find a USB lead to transfer my pix from now on.

Anyroad, now we’re off to the beach, Chacala it’s called. We’ve rented a house with a swimming pool for the weekend for the 7 of us (Set, Amy and Angeles are in tow also). And it’s allegedly only 4 hours away on toll roads. We’ve been wrong before though. Should be good.
