It’s worth watching the 2nd section too, where he says, this administration is soaring, not sinking… they’re not “rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic¨. They’re rearranging the deckchairs on the Hindenberg.
Este guey si tiene huevos…
EDIT: May 4th, 2006: YouTube’s taken this down apparently “At the request of C-Span” I’m not convinced… more at BoingBoing
I was having a fine old time today in Tequila. Sita’s contacts are paying off nicely and we were “gifted” all manner of tequila-related multimedia on everything from mp3s to a set of vinyl records from the 70s. Including a VHS of “Tequileros” which had parts filmed in Columpio, my favourite Destilado de Agave factory.
Anyroad, driving back we noticed there were workers close to the road in the field jimando, ie harvesting and chopping the leaves off the agaves, so I leapt out with my camera and started photoing them. They posed and everything. Naturally, when I got home I realised I had me camera on the wrong setting which has led to some very grainy shots, still it was a great experience. And I’ll not make that mistake again. With highly configurable cameras comes great responsibility it appears.
Here’re me faves (that’ll probably find their way to my photoblog soon):
Great weekend at Pahrump and Las Vegas, Nevada, for more pix, click away. Aunt Minnie’s house seems desert proof enough and I’ve found a strain of slot machines that I can lose money on very slowly. Sita’s more into the roulette, which means ‘I will bankrupt you’ in French.
Finally got round to booking the car hire for Geneva and beyond, watch out for a speeding Seat Ibiza confused as to which side of the autoroute to drive on in early Sept…
And last, and by most means, least, Atticus’s web debut on GwynUnlimited is here. He also got seamlessly pasted into our wedding photo here. Vive la revisionisme historique!
UPDATE- And this week’s fantastic Onion headline from the future (2056): Democratic Middle Eastern Union votes to declare war on U.S.
MECCA—The 14 democratic member nations of the Middle Eastern Union unanimously voted to declare war on the U.S. Monday, calling the North American country a “dangerous rogue state that must be contained.”
A bientot, gwyn
Yesterday I went round Amour Fou (soon at amourfou.com.mx) and jammed a bit with carlos. I played the mini guitar and Carlos was on the 10 stringed instrument thingy and singing. Here’s the mp3 of us. I’m basically playing 3 chords and he’s doing all the work. But it sounds well good if you ask me…
Blog a little…
In the meantime, a photo can tell a thousand words and Dad´s pix are worth a look too.
I`m told it takes one day per hour of time difference to get used to the jet lag, which gives me 3 more days of excuses for naps and waking up in the middle of the night and eating twiglets and cheese sandwiches.
