One man and his dog
Soldier Hollow Sheepdog Trials 2011. The weather’s taken a turn for the perfect round here of late. Still practising with the time lapse camera, hopefully should be capturing the horse chestnut tree outside’s transition.

We’re being treated like royalty here in Guadalajara by Mario and Ange, and all we seem to need to do to repay the favour is take the occasional photo of the very photogenic Bolo the Beagle… Read More “Bolo”
Someone had a birthday… I took all the lovely messages from DrSita’s facebook page and fed them into Wordle and put them over this here diptych of Atticus doing his thing. Here’s the result… Click here for the massive version.
One of the last Maine Photography Meetups for me today down by Evergreen Cemetery in Portland. Read More “Dawn Chorus”
What with us moving to New York in the near future, here’s a shot from our garden while we still have one. Matey here is crawling across a solar-powered light that we have in the tree there. A lot easier to photograph than butterflies…
On Saturday I travelled up state to Greenville to watch the dog race. Freezing it was, but it was a great photo op and everyone-crowds, mushers and dogs- looked like they were having as much fun as I was.
I’m planning a post on my neglected blog soon.
Here’s a link to the full set
Matey here was following us when we went lobster fishing. The bait from the lobster pots gets chucked into the sea and is replaced with fresh herrings. The seagulls were well used to this process and having them hover close by made them prime targets for me camera.
Hello! Here’s a photo of Atticus on one of his rare solo forays. He’s rarely off the lead because, although he responds pretty well to clicks and ‘come back here ya little bugger’ shouts, it only takes one seagull for him to head off far out of earshot towards the horizon.
This is from 10 miles north of Tillamook and I think I’ve saved up enough pix to provide one photo a day this week. Gorgeous part of the world, and fine company what with my folks and an adventurous little schipperke.
‘Cus proves Big Al wrong…
This rum customer stayed staring at me for quite while, calculating his escape no doubt. I’m not used to such attention as Atticus usually frightens off anything alive and under 15 kilos within a 2 mile radius…
Sorry about the absence of posts of late, you know how it is. A new season of Lost starts and everything goes to pot. What with the surprisingly decent weather at we’re enjoying at the minute I should get out more and spend less time on facebook. Talking of which: :O
Yeah, cheesy title I know. They don’t have it easy the squirrels round here, if they’re not being chased by Atticus, they’re under nigh on two foot of snow. I forget where, but I recently read that “squirrels are just rats with good PR”.
Also, thanks to Sunday’s publicity drive, I would like to welcome Amy to our small, but vital, community of people-who-get-a-picture-emailed-to-them-daily. Much appreciated 🙂 and if any other subscribees would like a signed photo postcard sent to them (by proper post) just email me which one you’d like and your address. Ta.

Hope that puts your mind at rest…

Yep- It’s a cow piñata from Calle Enrique Diaz de Leon, if memory serves…
